Our History

Baan Unrak was founded in 1991 when Didi Devamala, volunteering in Sangklaburi on an agricultural project, was given a child with nowhere else to go.  Seventeen years later, we have over 140 children we are responsible for.  Click here for a much more detailed presentation about our home.
Our Immense Good Fortune

Baan Unrak has been blessed with good fortune in too many ways to count. One especially important way is our friendship with Anna Maria Corradimi.  Through her advice and generosity we have been able to build a wonderful new home for our children.  We will be eternally thankful to her.
Why we are special

The foundation of Baan Unrak is the Neo-Humanist philosophy of universal love.  This has an impact on our day to day activities in many ways.  We are vegetarians.  Our children meditate twice a day and they do yoga (click here for a video).   Most of them speak English and are not camera shy...see them here!
