A Day of Friendship and Joy: Baan Unrak Children at Bromsgrove International School’s Sports Day

On 28 November 2025, 30 of our children from Baan Unrak were invited to join the Friendship Sports Day at Bromsgrove International School Thailand. From the very beginning, there was a sense of anticipation and eagerness to reconnect with the friends they had met during Bromsgrove’s visit to our home. When the two groups first met, they exchanged shy smiles. There was hesitation, a bit of nervousness, and the quiet excitement of recognizing familiar faces but not yet daring to approach.

But the moment the games began, the ice melted instantly. There is nothing quite like playing together to bring hearts closer. Especially for teens and preteens, a shared game becomes a shared language, one that builds trust faster than words. Soon, the shyness disappeared completely, replaced by laughter, cheering, and the joy of being together once again.

Throughout the day, our children and the Bromsgrove students mixed naturally into teams. Some remembered each other well, especially those who had volunteered at Baan Unrak. Their reunion was heartfelt—stronger bonds growing from the foundation of kindness they had built months earlier.

The activities included athletics, swimming, football, and basketball. The children were delighted to take part in this special sporting opportunity.

Although the Bromsgrove students had the advantage of professional coaching, and our children learned mainly through experience and practice, the atmosphere remained beautifully balanced. Every competition was spirited yet friendly. Everyone encouraged one another, and the loudest cheers often came from the Bromsgrove students who had visited our home before. The connection they formed with our children continues to shine.

After a full day of sports competition and celebrating, all the children received participation and appreciation certificates, a symbol not only of their effort but of the friendship and unity created through this shared experience.

By the end of the day, the children were truly exhausted… but in the best possible way. Their hearts were full. Their smiles were bright. And the joy of the event lingered long after the games were over.

Thanks to the generosity of dear friends and sponsors of Baan Unrak, the celebration didn’t end there. The children enjoyed a wonderful meal, complete with pizza, and spent a beautiful day by the sea. It was the perfect conclusion to a memorable adventure, one they will cherish for a long time.

This experience reminded us once again of the power of friendship, connection, and play. We hope to share many more joyful days like this in the future—days that bring our children closer to the world, and the world closer to our children.
