We had a wonderful team from Thammasat University join us for a project that could truly transform the life of our home. One of the most precious resources we have at Baan Unrak is water—yet it is not easily available. We collect it from the lake and from the sky, but it is not fit for drinking. As a result, we have to buy water at least every two days.

We drink a lot—because it’s healthy, and it’s good for our community!

The entire project was funded by a generous donation from a dear sponsor, Mr. NG Tee Khiang (Singapore), who recently became interested in our Baan Unrak journey and is especially drawn to supporting our self-development through the use of natural resources. He also sponsored the expenses of the Thammasat students, while AGLC (All Green Learning Center) coordinated and negotiated with Thammasat for their services.

Everyone came together to create a solution. They decided that Baan Unrak must have safe drinking water.

We were honored to welcome some of the brightest minds in Thailand—professors and students from the Department of Sustainable Development Technology—who collaborated to design a simple, efficient, long-lasting system that requires almost no maintenance.

And they built it themselves—the students and their professors! Our Baan Unrak workers, children, and staff were all involved, using materials readily available in the environment. We also learned how to make high-quality charcoal—a valuable skill we’re truly grateful to acquire. It will help us use our land’s resources wisely, without wasting anything.

Our environment provided the stones, while we purchased sand, plastic tanks, and piping. In about a month, our drinking water system will be ready. In the meantime, we can already use the filtered water for cleaning and cooking. We just need to allow time for the natural bacteria and enzymes to develop and complete the purification process.

Once again, our guests became dear friends. They shared their joy and kindness with us. We had performances together—our little children had the opportunity to perform acrobatic yoga for the first time. We also presented our flash mob show, giving our guests a glimpse into our core ideology:

We are not alone. Love is inside us.

We sang the Baan Unrak song, a song of thankfulness, and celebrated our achievements together. Our guests also shared their spontaneous art and music, and our little ones joyfully participated.

The team worked so efficiently that they even had a day off to explore the natural beauty of Sangkhlaburi.

What we received was not just a water system—it was a gift of love and sacrifice from all

those involved. A brilliant solution we will treasure for years to come. We discovered the potential of our land, the amazing power of water, and—most importantly—we gained peace of mind.

We are no longer afraid. This is not a high-tech system that requires expensive parts or expert maintenance. It is a simple and sustainable system, perfectly adapted to our needs. We now have a clear understanding of how to maintain it for years to come—without spending on costly purification components.

It is a system made for us—easy to understand and easy to care for.
