Discovering the Home of Warmth and Love: What is Baan Unrak?

In Thai, "Baan" means "home," while "Unrak" means "warm love" a love filled with warmth, gentleness, and compassion. Baan Unrak is more than just a shelter; it’s a home that envelops children with feelings of safety and emotional warmth.

At its heart, This home is a sanctuary where love flows freely, creating a space where children can thrive and grow. We see ourselves as a cosmic family.

We believe that all living beings.........

people

animals,

and plants are our friends and part of our family.

Every day, the children engage in meditation twice, sending their love and positive energy through the universe to everyone around the world. This practice is not only a reflection of their love but also an action of kindness that strengthens the mind.

Through love, the mind becomes both soft and resilient, able to stay balanced even in times of hardship. Love, in its truest form, is devotion. As devotion awakens, so does the love of all beings and the love of the divine.

Each year, volunteers from all over the world come to our home. They, too, are part of our family, and though their time with us may be brief, we remain connected through the love we share.

We carry our cosmic family inside our hearts, no matter the distance between us.

At Baan Unrak Children’s Home, love is the cornerstone that binds everyone together. The older children naturally take on nurturing roles, extending their care and affection to the younger ones.

They assist the caretakers by helping to look after the little ones, embracing them with unconditional love. Though not related by blood, the bonds they share are just as deep, forged within the walls of this home where love is passed down from generation to generation. This is their sanctuary—a place where they find both care and support.

While the warmth and affection within Baan Unrak may not replace the love of a biological family, it offers a profound sense of belonging. The children care for one another like siblings, providing companionship, guidance, and comfort.

They are more than just friends; they are mentors and protectors, standing by each other through every challenge life brings.

Reflecting on this, love is more than just an emotion—it is a conscious choice, a commitment to uplift and support others. On a deeper level, love is the force that connects all living beings in a shared human experience.

In this home, it is present in every act of kindness, compassion, and care that the children exchange. Here, love transcends biological ties, and family is defined by the heart.
