Wishing a joyful birthday to Baan Unrak! On October 21st, we celebrated 34 wonderful years of caring for and assisting children in need.
Every year, our celebration included a special meditation session, which has become our cherished tradition. This years kids were incredibly committed to their meditation, going deeper than ever. It was beautiful to watch their devotion to self-reflection and mindfulness.
After, we all had a delicious dessert. This celebration would not have been possible without the generous financial support of our sponsors. Given our current financial position, their contributions have brought the children much joy on this particular day. We appreciate your assistance in providing a happy for our children.
While we were celebrating with cake on our anniversary, we received some amazing news that felt like a special gift! We received the news that NIST International School has generously agreed to support our weaving project by funding a room, a bathroom, and the necessary supplies. Their help is key to our goal of building sustainable livelihoods in our community.
It was the best gift that we could ever imagine. We are grateful to NIST International School for supporting our cause and helping us on our path to a better future.
This year like every years, we celebrated in a special way to honor this significant day. On October 21st, we began our relief work. As part of our anniversary tradition, the children have continued to do community service by visiting those in need every days until the end of the month.
They're always willing to help, demonstrating our dedication to giving back. We gave away blankets, rice, beds, and clothing to people in need.
However, the plans didn't end there! On October 31st, we conducted our final relief expedition into Myanmar's territory to a remote area deep within the jungle.
Finally, after a difficult trek across rough ground, we arrived at Halockhanee. Our visit had a special purpose: to hold an opening ceremony for the new playground at the Mon National Nursery School in Halockhanee.
After Didi from Baan Unrak cut the ribbon, we joined the ceremony inside the school. We were grateful that the Neo Humanist Foundation, led by Dada, chose to include Baan Unrak in completing the playground project. Seeing the joy in the children's eyes was a true honor, making us proud to be part of such a meaningful initiative.
The children were happy as they explored their new playground. Their pleasure spread across the neighborhood, bringing happiness and thankfulness.
Following the ceremony, we distributed supplies for 130 families about 500 people. We gave corn, clothes, blankets and stationery.
Our mission to help this community is far from ended; we intend to help them develop their water systems in the future, which is still a critical resource they require.
