Trip to Three Pagoda with teenager girls

We are pleased to announce the successful implementation of a new initiative! Former children and staff members of Baan Unrak brought the children on a field trip for entertainment. It is common practice for volunteers to take groups of children to events, however this is the first time our staff did so, and the first time many children went together! They went to Three Pagoda Pass, on the Burma side.

After visiting a Buddhist Temple and some monuments, they went to a swimming pool; we do not have swimming pools in Sangkla, and the river has been too high to go. They were very happy for the opportunity. Swimming was followed by a picnic and singing songs together on the way home. Even with heavy rain during the journey back, our children were delighted. The day was full of enjoyment for everyone, and marked a grand experiment for fostering communal growth.
