On November 2, 2024, we were thrilled to host an engaging, hands-on workshop with the talented team from the Faculty of Engineering at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT).
A day full of passion and experience to guide our community on sustainable habits and address environmental concerns together.
Our waste-sorting activity was a huge success! The RMUTT instructors demonstrated how to divide trash into color-coded containers, each with a designated waste category. They not only instructed but also included some enjoyable activities! The children formed teams and competed in a trash-sorting task using trash cards, learning how to properly dispose of waste as they went.
They also played an environmental version of Snakes and Ladders, concentrating on wasteful tendencies in daily life. This game taught the students the significance of conserving resources and avoiding wasteful habits. The day was filled with humor, teamwork, and important lessons about sustainable living!
We also got our hands dirty (literally!) as they showed us how to manufacture compost.
We collected yard leaves, kitchen waste, and cow dung to make compost in a small-space-friendly technique that was ideal for our requirements.
This "garden gold" will help us keep the soil healthy while giving back to the land supporting us.
The RMUTT team also assisted with immediate challenges such as water scarcity and wastewater treatment, guiding us toward long-term solutions that can considerably improve our resource management.
The kids had a great time and learned a lot owing to our guests' engaging, interactive approach. It was a weekend full of learning, humor, and collaboration, all to create a more sustainable community.
Thank you to the RMUTT teachers for sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm; you've made a lasting impression, and we're all a little greener and a lot more motivated!
